The Key to Successful Business
You may have heard the term ‘embodied’ or ‘embodiment’ and wondered what it means. In this article, I will introduce you to this concept and explain its relevance in the context of business. Whether you already have your own business, are just starting one, or are feeling stuck in a job you don’t like, this article aims to help by exploring what it means to be embodied in your business and life, bringing stability, growth, joy, and freedom.
So, what is embodied business? It's approaching our work with the understanding that everything in our external reality stems from within us. Being embodied means truly understanding our body, emotions, and feelings. In business, it means recognizing that our bodies are an extension of our business. You might think this sounds abstract, but let me give you some examples.
Imagine you have a business but are struggling to bring in clients or sales despite doing everything by the book. Often, the reason is a subconscious blind spot within yourself. Something within your being—your body, mind, or emotional state—is affecting your business. We have not only a physical body but also a mental, emotional, and energetic body. By reconnecting with our bodies and identifying these blind spots, we can address the internal disconnects that hinder our success.
Being embodied involves creating a connection with yourself to find the parts of you that subconsciously hold you back. For example, if you struggle with money, it may be because parts of you don’t feel safe holding the prosperity you desire. Or, if you earn money but it quickly disappears, it might be due to underlying stress, unresolved emotions or subconscious belief systems that contradict what we want and need.
These issues are common in business and life. The external problems we face often reflect unresolved internal issues. I call them blind spots because they are not easily seen without introspection and commitment to understanding our belief systems and emotions.
Embodied business is about reconnecting with the wisdom within us. Many of us avoid expressing our true feelings, leading to built-up emotions that manifest as business or personal issues. Emotions are meant to be felt, and when we suppress them, they linger in our energy field and body, causing various problems.
I have personally experienced profound shifts by committing to feeling my emotions and developing a connection with my body. Years of numbing myself with alcohol or drugs to avoid feelings only caused more harm. Many people can relate to this, as we often aren’t taught how to process our emotions. Avoiding uncomfortable feelings becomes a defence mechanism, but it’s detrimental in the long run.
My mission is to guide people back to a connection with their bodies, illuminate their blind spots, and help them work through these issues to succeed in life and business. When you embody these principles, you create a foundation for stability, growth, joy, and freedom.
Embodied business is a holistic approach, considering our mindset, belief systems, and emotional state. When we embody these concepts, we can apply them to all areas of our lives, ensuring success not just in business but overall.
If you’re new to this concept, start by identifying issues in your current business or life. Write down your struggles and frustrations, and look for patterns. You will most likely find a pattern. There is always a pattern! Even if at first you cannot see it. Mapping these issues on a timeline can reveal connections between external stressors and internal states.
Understand that stress impacts your nervous system and business capacity. By getting curious about these connections, you take the first step toward embodied business. This journey goes deep, but it's essential for true success and freedom.
